Criminologists say the general public shouldn’t be overly alarmed by the public warning from police of an escalating gang war.
They explain that police have a legal duty to let people know when there is an increased public threat from criminals. But the main focus of the threats are the criminals themselves and their families, friends and neighbours who are all at a greater risk.
